About Our Club

The St. Albert chapter of the Canadian Progress Club was founded in 1973. From humble beginnings a group of like-minded individuals joined in an endeavor to perform two important functions...golf and fundraising.  From this simple idea, a vibrant club of 28 members currently succeeds in accomplishing both of these important club duties with a little socializing thrown in for good measure

The main thrust of the club's fundraising has always been to serve underprivileged kids. Through charities such as Special Olympics, Uncles at Large, Camp Warwa, Northern Alberta Children's Festival and the St. Albert Youth Center, the smiles on the kids faces are the rewards for many long hours organizing and running various charitable events. Our charitable events include the Dawn til Dusk Golf Tourney, Valentine's Dance and Hallowfest, along with various other charitable duties throughout the year.

Today our club enjoys great social and fundraising success and with a great combination of experience and youthful exuberance, we look forward to many fun years ahead.

Our club is proud to announce that our chartered club – The SILKS has completed it’s first fiscal year and can proudly boast charitable donations in excess of $16,000. Since being chartered in September, 2006 the SILKS active membership have been getting better and better and we expect big things over the coming years!
